Friday’s shooting occurred around 1 am in the Texaco department store, according to a press release from the Shreveport Police Department. The officers arrived and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was identified by the Coroner Parish Cadeau Office as Danzeria O. Farris Jr. , 32, from Shreveport. Police said he died of his wounds at LSU Health Shreveport.
The 31-year-old rapper, whose real name is Christopher Dolly, has been identified as a shooting suspect. Police said Dolly said the shooting was in self-defense after a struggle over his car.
“The investigators were able to secure video footage of the incident, which the investigators believe showed that Dolly did not act in self-defense,” the statement said.
Investigators knew that the car in question did not belong to Dooley, but was stolen instead of Texas.
